VIDEO: Yankees' Mariano Rivera Delivers From Mound In 'First Throw'
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Here's something to be thankful for: Mariano Rivera on a pitcher's mound.
Rivera has been filmed toeing the rubber for the first time since suffering a season-ending ACL tear in his right knee on May 3.
The Yankees great can be seen stretching his surgically repaired knee, then firing a pitch toward a slow-motion camera. The video, aptly named "First Throw," was produced in early November to promote the Yankees fragrance collection, which for a limited time will include Mo's namesake edition.

In a separate video posted to MLB.com, Rivera said he was "feeling good" as he works to return to full health.
"Rehab has been great," Rivera said from the site of "First Throw," The Hackley School in Tarrytown. "It's been tough, but at the same time, I'm seeing good results. I can't wait to continue and stay 100 percent ... day at a time, like I always told you guys."
Baseball's all-time saves leader put a quick end to speculation over whether he'd return after his injury, vowing to reporters in May that he'd be back. But the question lingered as New York entered the offseason.
Rivera, who will turn 43 on Nov. 29, informed the Yankees earlier this month that he indeed was ready to return. Now the sides just have to hammer out a deal.
"I didn't want to go out like that," Rivera said. "But at the same time, we haven't discussed anything. We're talking, so hopefully we'll finalize everything. I have something left. Give it a shot, why not?"
