Video Shows Woman Being Dragged, Assaulted Near LIRR's Ronkonkoma Station
RONKONKOMA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- MTA police want to find a man that witnesses said assaulted and abducted a woman at the Long Island Rail Road's Ronkonkoma Station on Sunday.
The incident, which was caught on surveillance video from "Village Taxi," shows a man knocking down a woman, who had just exited a LIRR train. The two, who appear to know each other, exchanged words inside the 24-hour car service business before he allegedly forced the woman to leave.
Once outside, the suspect knocked the woman down and dragged her out of view of the surveillance camera.
Witnesses told authorities that the man also placed the victim over his shoulder and threw her into the back of a light silver 4-door Nissan Altima -- either late 1990's or early 2000's model.
The confrontation caught the attention of another customer coming into the taxi service. That customer kept her eye on the pair through the window, CBS 2's Sean Hennessey reported. The witness left the shop to see what would happen next and asked 'Where are you taking her?'
Police have released that surveillance video in the hope that someone will recognize the man and help authorities find him.
The suspect is an African-American male, aged 25-30, approximately 5'9" or 5'10", weighing 185 to 210 pounds. He had crew-cut hair or was bald, and was seen wearing a black leather jacket, blue jeans and sneakers.
