Video Shows DWI Arrest Of Fmr. Southampton Town Supervisor
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/AP) -- Following the high-profile DWI arrest of a Southampton town official in 2009, Riverhead Town Justice Allen Smith ordered the release of dashboard video taken the night of the incident.
The trial of former Southampton Town Supervisor Linda Kabot commenced Monday at Riverhead Town Justice Court.
Kabot was arrested on Labor Day weekend 2009 in Westhampton Beach. She has pleaded not guilty to DWI, failure to stop at a stop sign and other offenses.

Kabot was in the middle of a re-election campaign when she was arrested. She subsequently lost. Her attorney has suggested she was the victim of a set-up.
The now-released video tape shows Kabot being pulled over by police.
In the video, Kabot asks the officers "did I do something wrong?" To which the officers responded that she was "swerving a little bit."
Kabot admitted she "had a glass of wine, maybe two." The officers then asked Kabot to step out of her vehicle and proceeded to perform a number of field sobriety tests.
The former town supervisor then refused to take a Breathalyzer test.
"I refuse to take this test," Kabot said in the video. "You think I am intoxicated and that's why you pulled me over."
"I feel that I'm not intoxicated," she said in the video.
The trial continued Wednesday with defense attorney William Keahon cross examining Officer Steve McManus, who was one of arresting officers. The trial will continue at 10 a.m. Thursday.
