VIDEO: Kevin Ware Dunks Just Months After Grisly Injury
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Louisville guard Kevin Ware vowed to return from a grisly leg injury suffered during the NCAA Tournament.
So far, so good.
A video of Ware dunking on the practice floor, uploaded to Instagram by Cardinals teammate Chris Jones, has been making its way around social media.
"I'm back," Ware said in the clip.
"Comeback player of the year," Jones said of Ware after the dunk.
Ware suffered a gruesome compound fracture against Duke during the tournament's Elite Eight round in March. His team went on to win the NCAA title.
"It's healed a lot quicker than it's supposed to, so that's real good," Ware told USA Today in June. "I'm just ready for October. They're telling me October is when I'll be 100 percent so that's what I'm ready for... as long as they're telling me I can be on the court, I'll be on the court."
