VIDEO: Jets' Scott Limps Off 'TNA Impact' Wrestling Gig
NEW YORK (WFAN) -- The mystery over Bart Scott's "TNA Impact" wrestling debut is beginning to unravel.
In a video posted to YouTube, the Jets linebacker is seen limping badly from the ring after a tussle with Kurt Angle. It's not revealed how Scott gets "injured," although pro wrestling fans will tell you that Angle's signature move is an ankle lock.
Jets fans will have to tune in to Spike TV Thursday night for the rest of Scott's altercation with Angle.
ProFootballTalk.com first reported the extent of the linebacker's wrestling gig.
"A source with knowledge of the situation tells us that Scott gets physical in the segment that was taped last week," the site reported Monday. "The source was surprised by the extent to which Scott engaged in ring-related activities."
However, Scott's agent, Harold Lewis, denied the account in an email to a local reporter.
"He was not wrestling!" Lewis wrote. "He was only the bodyguard for some small, helpless guy named Hulk Hogan. It was nothing more than an appearance."
Why the concern over Scott's appearance? See paragraph three of the NFL's Standard Player Contract: "Without prior written consent of the Club, Player will not play football or engage in activities related to football otherwise than for Club or engage in any activity other than football which may involve a significant risk of personal injury."
Scott, whose limp away from the ring was likely for show, doesn't sound too concerned.
"It was surreal," he said Wednesday.
