Victor Cruz's Reflection After First Month Of Season: 'I Like Where My Team Is'
NEW YORK (WFAN) - The Giants suffered a heartbreaking loss on Sunday night to the division-rival Eagles, as kicker Lawrence Tynes just missed a last-second 54-yard field goal which would have given the G-Men the victory.
Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz, who became quarterback Eli Manning's main target with Hakeem Nicks on the shelf, acknowledged that it was a highly-disappointing defeat for the defending Super Bowl champions.
"It was a tough game for us," Cruz told WFAN's Mike Francesa in his weekly spot on Tuesday. "Obviously we played hard, played down to the very last minute. But some unfortunate events went down at the end and we couldn't pull away with the victory.

After a month of football, the Giants are sitting at 2-2, with both losses coming in the division (the other a loss to the Cowboys on opening night). The division is as tight as can be, however, with the Cowboys and Redskins sharing the same record as Big Blue. The Eagles sit atop the NFC East with a 3-1 record.
Still, despite the less-than-thrilling start to 2012, Cruz feels confident about where his team is headed.
"Obviously there are some points where we have to clean up and some points where can definitely get better, but I like where my team is," the third-year player said. "I think we're still kind of getting through the bumps and bruises of the season, and I think we're going to be alright. I think we're getting to the chunk of our schedule in these upcoming weeks, and I think we'll be OK."
New York will host the winless Browns at MetLife Stadium on Sunday before heading to San Francisco to take on the extremely talented 49ers. The Giants will then welcome the division-rival Redskins to East Rutherford before taking on the Cowboys in a Week 1 rematch at Cowboys Stadium.
Though the Eagles' defense was all over Cruz on Sunday night, the Paterson native managed to deliver once again against Philadelphia, who he dominated twice last season. The six-foot-0, 204-pounder caught nine passes for 109 yards and a touchdown in the defeat.
