Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance said 23-year-old Jason Quinones will also serve ten years of post-released supervision.

The two crimes happened last summer and had many Upper East Side residents on edge.

Last August, authorities said Quinones climbed through a window of a woman's East 90th Street apartment and raped her while she slept.

A month earlier, Quinones followed a woman to her apartment on East 83rd Street, pushed his way in and sexually assaulted her.

"The defendant sexually assaulted two victims in their own homes, violating their sense of security in the place where they should feel most safe," Vance said in a news release. "I commend the victims for their bravery in coming forward, and hope that today's sentencing gives them a measure of closure," Vance said in the statement.

Quinones pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree rape and two counts of first-degree sexual abuse.
