NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A fire on the Upper East Side pulled tenants from their beds and out onto the street Thursday morning.

The three-alarm fire broke out around 6 a.m. in the basement of a five-story apartment building on Second Avenue between East 94th and 95th streets. Flames later spread to the first floor.

Four people, including two firefighters, suffered minor injuries.
