This year, the bar on 82nd Street and Second Avenue is making the same name change as the same teams and quarterbacks come face-to-face for an epic rematch.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg hopes the move will bring Big Blue another Super Bowl victory.

"It was, I think, clearly instrumental in terms of luck," Bloomberg said Friday on his weekly radio show.

The transformation is temporary.

"The other days of the year we want them to have a good time, make a lot of money, pay taxes and have people drink responsibly -- but for this time we think, and the owners of the bar think, it's appropriate to be 'Manning's'," Bloomberg said. "

The city will be serving giant sourdough pretzels to bar patrons – courtesy of San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee. The pretzels were part of the bet he lost when the 49ers lost the NFC Championship game.

Bloomberg will be going to the big game on Sunday.

"You gotta hand it to the Giants," Bloomberg said.
