United Flight To Pittsburgh Makes Emergency Landing At Newark Due To Smoke
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) - A United Express bound for Pittsburgh landed safely after smoke was reported in the aircraft, CBS 2 reported.
The incident took place at Newark Liberty International Airport Thursday at around 11:15 a.m.
27 passengers on the plane were safely removed to the terminal on buses. No injuries were reported.
The plane has been removed from the runway.
It's not known if there was a mechanical problem.
The Federal Aviation Administration identified the aircraft as a DeHavilland DH-8, which is a turboprop plane.
