Union Beach Family Is First To Get FEMA Trailer On Residential Property After Sandy
UNION BEACH, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A Union Beach family of five has moved into the first and only Federal Emergency Management Agency trailer installed on private property in Sandy-ravaged New Jersey.
Glenn Cottrell, his wife, two daughters, son and the family dog had been staying with relatives since the superstorm washed out their home nearly five months ago.
Now, they are living in a 576-square-foot trailer which has been installed on another piece of property owned by the family.

"I had a lot that had access to utilities and it was out of the flood zone," Cottrell said. "It's pretty spacious. It fits what our needs are."
The 51-year-old construction worker said the three-bedroom trailer is clean and has all the necessities, including furniture and kitchen appliances.
"It's fantastic," Cottrell said. "I wish more people could make use out of this."
The family will live in the trailer for 18 months as they rebuild their home.
