UFT Wants NYC Back At Table On Teacher Evaluations
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - United Federation of Teachers president Michael Mulgrew says they've gone to the state to try and drag city officials back to the negotiating table to reach an agreement on a new teacher evaluation process.

Talks broke down last week.
In his state of the city speech, Mayor Michael Bloomberg vowed to sidestep the labor dispute and form school-based communities to evaluate teachers at 33 struggling schools.
However, Mulgrew says the mayor is setting up a smoke screen to hide the decade of disaster he inflicted on city schools.
"He would rather start a fight with us so people will people will stop talking about how bad his legacy on the schools has been during his mayorality," Mulgrew told WCBS 880 reporter Monica Miller on Friday.
Bloomberg says his can make the move under a school turnaround provision authorized by state and federal law.
