Two NJ Men Indicted In Violent 2011 Murder, Multiple Counts Handed Up
MORRISTOWN, N.J. (AP) -- Two men face numerous charges stemming from the beating death of a man whose body was found in a car trunk in northern New Jersey last year.
An indictment recently handed up by a Morris County grand jury brings several counts against 22-year-old Carlos Rojas of North Bergen, including felony murder and kidnapping.
Prosecutors say Rojas repeatedly hit 27-year-old Esteban Hernandez-Vazquez of North Bergen in the head with a hammer in August 2011. The attack apparently occurred outside the Fairview home of 46-year-old Oscar Benedicto-Aleman, who allegedly helped Rojas move the body to a wooded area of Lincoln Park.
Benedicto-Aleman, who apparently played no role in the slaying, was indicted on numerous counts, including disturbing human remains and hindering apprehension.
Neither Rojas nor Benedicto-Aleman could be reached for comment Sunday.
