Two Fatal Crashes In One Weekend In Upstate Marlboro
MARLBORO, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A 48-year-old man was killed Sunday in a crash in the upstate town of Marlboro, in the second deadly crash in the Hudson Valley town this weekend.
Donald Dawson was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Route 9W in Marlboro at 7:44 a.m. Sunday, authorities said. The town is located 65 miles north of New York City.
Troopers said Dawson's car was struck by an oncoming car driven by Eugene Antwi, 26, of Brooklyn.
Antwi and three people in his car were taken to a Poughkeepsie hospital with injuries police said weren't life-threatening.
The investigation into the cause of the crash was ongoing as of Sunday night.
It was the second fatal accident in the town this weekend. Sarah Smith, a 16-year-old Marlboro High School student from Newburgh, died in a one-car accident early Saturday.
