Tuition Going Up At Rutgers University
NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) - Students will soon be paying more to attend Rutgers University.
The university's Board of Governors on Wednesday approved a 2.2 percent increase in tuition, fees and room and board charges for in-state undergraduates. It also approved increases in out-of-state tuition.

In-state tuition will rise from $10,104 to $10,356 this fall, while out-of-state tuition will rise from $22,766 to $23,676. Students in some schools will pay more.
The vote came after several students told the board they are already struggling to pay tuition and other fees. They had urged the board to instead impose a tuition freeze.
Board chairman Ralph Izzo said this is the second straight year in-state tuition charges will increase either at or below the rate of inflation. Izzo said tuition increases are primarily driven by salaries.
