TTYM: Goodell Is Goofed, Harden Can't Dance And New Lingerie Leaguers?
More Columns here.
Well, the sports world continues it's obsession with the NFL and allegations of domestic abuse. And players aren't exactly helping to change the subject. It seems new accusations are popping up every day. But, I promise you, more is going on!
Here are five amusing moments in sports this week.
1. Howard Stern Won The Goodell Press Conference
NFL Commish Roger Goodell held a press conference Friday afternoon to address the growing criticism against the league over it's handling of domestic abuse cases involving its players.
And just when you thought you'd had enough of him answering the same question over and over again only worded differently. It happened.
A man crashed the conference screaming "don't take me into an elevator" and had to be dragged away.
The culprit is allegedly Benjy Bronk who works for Howard Stern.
So glad to see everyone is taking this issue seriously.
Hazed And Confused
Thanks to a few rotten apples we know how hazing in professional sports can go awry.
However, most of the time it's just comedy gold and thanks to social media we can now all share in the joy. Case in point, the Detroit Tigers make the rookies dress up before the last road trip every season.
This year they had them dress up as players of the lingerie football league.
See, everybody wins here.
It's Extremely Unusual
Perhaps white men can't jump, but sometime professional basketball players can't dance.
Houston Rockets All-Star James Harden was less than smooth when actor Alfonso Ribeiro tried to teach him a few moves.
Ribeiro infamously played Carlton in The French Prince of Bel Air and created his own dance to Tom Jones' hit "It's Not Unusual."
Well, let me assure you, Harden's moves were quite unusual.
Jersey Un-Sure
Ravens fans supporting Ray Rice is a great story? But is it a reality? Check out the line of people outside of M & T Stadium in Baltimore waiting to exchange their Ray Rice jersey for one belonging to another player.
It may be longer than the line for the iPhone 6.
Either way you're going to see a lot of folks sporting Flacco jerseys this weekend. And, well, that's kinda unfortunate for Ravens fans, too.
Geaux Tiger, er Tigers!
I'm not professing to be an expert on making out at sporting events, 'cause really, I'm more likely to be interested in what's happening on the field than my date. But, sometimes, depending on how many beers you've had and how exciting the game is, the spirit moves you.
However, might I suggest sitting down before you get it on?
