Trump: 'Hillary Clinton Is A Bigot Who Sees People Of Color Only As Votes'

JACKSON, Miss. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump made controversial comments once again while reaching out to minority voters as he referred to Hillary Clinton as a "bigot" during a rally in Jackson, Mississippi, on Wednesday night.

Trump, who was joined onstage by "Brexit" leader Nigel Farage, was cheered loudly when he declared that Democrats have taken minorities' support for granted.

"Hillary Clinton is a bigot who sees people of color only as votes, not as human beings worthy of a better future. She's going to do nothing for African-Americans. She's going to do nothing for the Hispanics. She's only going to take care of herself, her consultants, her donors," Trump said, referring to an Associated Press report that revealed many donors who met Clinton while she was secretary of state donated money to the Clinton Foundation.

He continued, "These are the people she cares about. She doesn't care what her policies have done to your communities. She doesn't care. Remember this, you've had her policies -- Democrats running some of the inner cities for 50, 70, 80, even over 100 years. And look what you have right now: poverty, no education, crime, you can't walk down the street with your child. We're going to fix it. Hillary Clinton has no remorse. I will fight to create a better future for every American."

Farage, the outgoing head of the United Kingdom Independence Party, even took part in attacking Clinton.

"But I will say this, if I was an American citizen, I wouldn't vote for Hillary Clinton if you paid me," Farage told the crowd.

Farage noted "anything is possible" if enough people band together, and predicted that Trump's presidential campaign would "smash the establishment."

Farage explained that his movement was an underdog in public opinion polls but triumphed in Britain's June 23 referendum. He predicted that Trump, who supported Britain's departure from the European Union, would stage a comeback and win in November.

Trump also gave a vague preview of his new immigration policy, which is slated to be unveiled next week. He said any immigration policy he supports must pass three tests: It should improve the wages, safety and quality of life for U.S. citizens.

"You need no better evidence of that than the fact that the media ignores the plight of Americans who have lost their children to illegal immigrants, but spends the day after day pushing for amnesty for those here in total violation of the law. We can't allow that," Trump said.

Trump faced backlash over the weekend after saying during a rally in Lansing, Michigan, on Friday what do African-Americans have to lose by voting for him.

"Look how much African-American communities have suffered under Democratic control," Trump he said last Friday. "To those I say the following: What do you have to lose?"

A recent NBC News/SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking Poll showed Clinton leading Trump nationally by 8 points – 50 to 42 percent.
