Traffic Moving Again After Truck Accident On Helix Snarls Morning Commute To NYC
WEEHAWKEN, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Traffic is moving again through the Lincoln Tunnel out of New York City after an overturned truck on the Helix snarled the early morning commute.
The truck crashed around 5 a.m., spilling fuel onto the roadway. Traffic leaving the Lincoln Tunnel into New Jersey was being diverted through Weehawken and NJ Transit buses were being diverted to Secaucus Junction.
By 8 a.m., the tractor-trailer was towed away and crews had finished cleaning up a fuel spill.
The accident created delays for commuters heading into and out of the city.
NJ Transit buses were diverted to Secaucus Junction and NJ Transit trains honored bus passes until 8:10 a.m.
