Tri-State To Celebrate With Mild New Year's Weather
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Tri-State residents have much to celebrate this New Year's Eve and Day as temperatures will be quite mild with a high of 45 degrees.
Around midnight, the temperatures will only drop to about 40 degrees as the Tri-State rings in the New Year.
After the clock strikes 12, temperatures should only drop to a low of about 36 degrees--certainly better than 2009's 33 degree-night with snow flurries and 2008's 18 degree-ball drop.
Aside from temperatures, clear skies are expected to be clear through most of the day and clouds will move through the area in the afternoon and evening.
The Air Quality Alert, issued by the National Weather Serivce, is still in effect through the day.
