Tri-State Blizzard Causing Massive Delays, Cancellations
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The blizzard pounding the tri-state area is causing major travel issues at area airports, major roadways and transit hubs.
*JFK, LaGuardia and Newark Liberty airports have been reopened, but many delays are still expected. Customers are asked to call their carriers for more information. American Airlines at LaGuardia will not have any flights on Monday or Tuesday.

Airports Reopen After Blizzard Shutdown
New Jersey Transit:
Rail service into and out of New York has been suspended due to a signal problem in the vicinity of New York's Penn Station. The problem also is affecting Amtrak service.
NJ Transit spokesman Dan Stessel said Amtrak is working to fix the problem, which occurred around 4 p.m. Monday.
Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast Line trains are starting and ending their trips at Newark Penn Station, subject to delays of 45-60 minutes in both directions.
Midtown Direct trains are operating to and from Hoboken Terminal.
Stessel said the impact is less than it would be on a normal weekday rush hour because trains have been running on a reduced schedule due to the snowstorm and ridership is light.

Spokeswoman Penny Bassett Hackett also said NJ Transit bus service was expected to resume Tuesday morning.
PATH train service is only operating from Grove Street to 33rd Street via Hoboken in both directions and Journal Square to World Trade Center in both directions.
Mass Transit Struggling to Get Back to Normal Service
*The Long Island Rail Road has suspended service systemwide in both directions until further notice due to inclement weather.

*Metro-North limited service has been restored on the Hudson, Harlem, and New Haven lines. Trains will operate hourly and make all local stops. Trains will operate on a Sunday schedule with cancellations and combinations.
*Amtrak has restored its planned Northeast Corridor holiday service schedule between New York and Boston following a severe winter storm. However, due to the lingering effects of the storm and heavy snow, delays persist in the New York area. Service between New York and Washington continues to run normally.:
