Tri-State Area Has Some Of America's Most Unreliable Roads
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - The Cross Bronx Expressway and the Van Wyck Expressway are reliably awful, but according to the Texas Transportation Institute, some of the New York City area roadways are completely unreliable when it comes to traffic jams.

The Hutchinson River Parkway ranks third in the nation on a list compiled by the institute.

Livery driver James Aneese says there are red flag times.
"Friday. Anytime rain, you know? The traffic is very, very bad in the rain," he told WCBS 880 reporter Paul Murnane.

The Pulaski Skyway and the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge going north to the Bronx are also unpredictable and unreliable. They rank sixth and fourth respectively.
