Tree Toppled By Snowstorm Crashes Into Rockland County Home
RAMAPO, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A massive tree crashed into a home in Rockland County, but all five people in the house, including a 6-year-old boy, were not injured.
"It was a crack and a thud. Then you heard the screaming," neighbor Joe Romano told CBS 2's Mark Morgan.
Romano looked out of his window and saw the tree in his neighbor's yard, weighed down by heavy wet snow, had split and crashed into the house below.

The tree crushed the entire side of the house where Megan Fitzgerald's mother, Laura lay sleeping.
"She was in the middle of everything, like the support beam of the house that was broken by the tree. There was a tree that landed just above her head," said Fitzgerald said.
"I was met by the woman who was in the bed at the time, and she was all covered in debris," said Romano.
After spending the night with relatives, Megan's mother did not return Sunday morning, but her daughter told CBS 2 the tree knocked out the back wall of the house and a side wall, with part of the attic ending up in the bedroom.
After he rushed over to help, Romano was amazed that Laura was unhurt.
"I don't know how she survived. There was a very small spot on the bed and she was in it," Romano said.
