Torre Leaning Toward MLB Job
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Joe Torre may not stay retired much longer.
The former Los Angeles Dodgers manager says he's leaning toward accepting a job with Commissioner Bud Selig that would allow him to stay in Los Angeles.
Torre told The Associated Press on Monday that he's still resolving some questions he has and that he expects to decide in the next two-to-three weeks.
Torre says he and Selig haven't discussed job titles, but they have determined what responsibilities the job would entail, although he declines to be specific.
Torre says he doesn't plan on working for the Dodgers in any capacity next season and instead prefers a job helping all of baseball.
