Time Out New York Kids: Great Weekend For Outdoor Family Activities
NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- New York City will have a great weekend to get outdoors so Time Out New York Kids has plenty of wonderful ideas for the family. Mary Squillace joins CBS 2's Cindy Hsu to talk about some of the events.
1. Cherry Blossom Festival
Where: Brooklyn Botanic Garden
900 Washington Ave at Eastern Pkwy, Prospect Heights

Description: The Brooklyn Botanic Garden once again fetes the spectacular cherry blossom season with the Japanese cultural tradition of Hanami, which means "to view the flowers." The 220-tree collection will be bursting into bloom all month. All ages.
2. Tribeca Family Festival Street Fair
Where: Greenwich Street between Chambers and Hubert streets
When: Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Tickets: Free
Description: Hosted by the iconic film fest, this gargantuan street fair offers tons of thrills for city kids. Nestled between tried and true fare like snacks and face painting are some ultra cool activity stations, including one where kids blow giant bubbles and another where they craft their own kites and learn to fly them. All ages.
3. Kindiefest Littlefield
Where: 622 DeGraw St (between Third and Fourth Aves)
When: Sunday, May 1 at 12 p.m.
Tickets: $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Infants free
Description: Though the first few days of this second annual children's music conference is for industry insiders only, the fest opens its doors to the public for one day, featuring an all-star lineup. Concertgoers will hear folk songstress Elizabeth Mitchell, local pop rockers Tim & the Space Cadets, 90s alt-rock band the Verve Pipe (yes, of The Freshman fame), jazz clarinetist Oran Etkin and more. All ages.
