Three Dozen Indicted In Connection With Drug Rings At Manhattan Housing Projects
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Authorities in Manhattan announced Friday the indictment of 41 alleged members of two narcotics trafficking rings, but there's a twist.
It's not clear if it was service with a smile, but these gangs certainly made it easy, Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said.
"The runner would bring the cocaine to his customers in their apartments or have the customers meet him curbside at the livery cab," Kelly said.

The police commissioner said deliveries were made all over the city and the drug gangs operated out of public housing projects.
"As this indictment reveals, residents of Manhattan today can get nearly everything delivered to their doorstep," said Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance, Jr. in a statement.
Thirty three members of the "Blocc Boyz" street gang were said to have been based in the Baruch Houses on the Lower East Side and eight members of the "Money Boyz" street gang were said to have been based at the Campos Houses in the East Village.
Kelly also said it was a profitable enterprise, allegedly raking in $1.2 million over two years.
Vance noted that the individuals charged weren't shy.
"In addition to their luxury cars parked outside their public housing buildings, they posted photos of their diamond-encrusted watches and pinky rings on the internet," he told WCBS 880 reporter Peter Haskell.
Four of the defendants have been charged as drug kingpins. They are Sean Steele, Jr., 25; Anthony Alvarez, 20; Adrian Rivera, 24; and Michael Austin Rodriguez, 24.
