Threats Prompt Early Dismissal At New Rochelle High School
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Students at New Rochelle High School were sent home early Wednesday after school officials say someone called in two threats.
The calls came into the principal and assistant principal's offices shortly before noon, Interim Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jeffrey Korostoff said.
The exact details of the calls were unclear, but Korostoff said they threatened the safety of the adults and students in the building.
School officials decided to end the day early after evacuating the school. Authorities have been checking the building section by section, Korostoff said.
Students who receive special transportation were taken to Iona College where buses will take them home.
