There's Hope For Horse Racing In New Jersey
EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ (WCBS 880) - Talks are ongoing between the Christie administration and standardbred breeders about saving horse racing at the Meadowlands.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie says this is "because this administration supports horse racing staying alive and well in New Jersey."
Christie went on to say, "What this administration does not support is ongoing taxpayer subsidies."
"It's not just saving racing at the Meadowlands. It's saving all of the green acres and the farm preservation land," says state Standardbred Breeders Association president Tom Luchento.
Luchento adds this is also about blacksmiths and veterinarians. He says all these people and jobs will leave for other horse racing states if it dries up here.
