The Spookiest Area Halloween Displays
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- They are hair-raising, spine-tingling, jaw-dropping and downright creepy.
CBS 2's Vanessa Murdock's showcased some of spookiest decoration displays in the area.
On 87th Street in Manhattan, one display features rats, spiders, ghouls, goblins and cannibalistic pumpkins.

"They rock!" one admirer said.
In Suffern, in Rockland County, Brad Yurcisin creates his own "Nightmare Before Christmas" decorations to display in his yard. It takes him two weeks to craft one crazed character out of plywood and paint.
"It's just a cool thing to do, and everyone really digs it and gets everyone into the season," he said.
His daughter, Sloane, thinks her dad's creations are very cool.
"I'm so popular because everybody likes my decorations," the 8-year-old said.
In Paramus, N.J., one home, with severed hands and heads out front, aims to terrify all who dare to glare.
But for the faint of heart, another Paramus display may be more your speed -- it features Elmo from "Sesame Street" hugging some pumpkins. However, the creator's favorite part could get your heart racing: a cemetery.
"Little things pop up," she said. "They light up. Different things. It scares the kids. But not too much. Not overboard."
In Hackensack, N.J., Clinton Place is a freight fest. House after house offers scenes brimming with the undead.
But Breanne, 4, dressed as a fairy princess, said she can't be spooked.
"I'm not scared of them," she insisted.
