'The Price Is Right' Contestant Search Takes Place In Yonkers
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Thousands of Tri-State area residents lined up at Yonkers Raceway Tuesday hoping to hear three famous words: Come on down.
The "Price is Right" contestant search kicked off at noon on Tuesday.
Two winners from the day's event will be flown to Los Angeles to see the show and have a chance to compete, CBS 2's Emily Smith reported.
Some folks told Smith they had been waiting in line at Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway since 4:30 a.m.
"I'm here to win," one woman said.
The auditions last for 30 seconds. Judges look for clarity, personality and enthusiasm.
The tryout involves a quick question and answer session in front of a camera. Winners find out in several weeks if they are selected.
