Testimony Continues In Murder Trial Of Slain Fashion Designer Sylvie Cachay's Boyfriend
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The prosecution continues calling witnesses in the murder trial of Nicholas Brooks, accused of killing his fashion designer girlfriend in Dec. 2010.
As WCBS 880's Irene Cornell reported, key witnesses have the look of women who could have dropped in from Fashion Week.
Sylvie Cachay's best friends who take the stand to describe the toxic love life that ended in her violent death are like the swimsuit designer; beautiful young women from the fashion world.

There are variations in their testimony, but all have told jurors that Cachay, 33, spent the last six months of her life in a romance that she described to them as "exhausting," "nuts," "immature," "turbulent," "bringing her down," "tempestuous" and "awful," Cornell reported.
Cachay's partially clothed body was found in an overflowing bathtub in the trendy Soho House Hotel on Dec. 9, 2010.
The Medical Examiner ruled she died from strangulation and drowning.
Brooks, 26, has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge against him.
Defense attorney Jeffrey Hoffman had previously admitted that the couple did have a rocky relationship, but claims that Cachay may have been heavily medicated and slipped in the tub. He also added that Brooks' DNA was never found near the bathtub faucets.
The trial is expected to last through the beginning of next month.
