Testimony Continues In Hit-And-Run Trial For Accident That Left Attorney Alan Dershowitz's Sister-In-Law Dead
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - There was more testimony Wednesday in the trial of the U.S. Postal Service truck driver charged in a fatal hit-and-run accident that left a Manhattan woman dead.
Ian Clement, 63, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident after he struck and killed 68-year-old Marilyn Dershowitz with his postal truck, prosecutors said. She was the sister-in-law of famed attorney Alan Dershowitz.

The fatal accident happened July 2, 2011 when Dershowitz and her husband Nathan were riding their bicycles on West 29th Street near a busy postal depot.
Clement's attorney John Arlia on Tuesday argued that his client maneuvered around a van that cut him off and that he did not know he hit Dershowitz.
Postal supervisor Marina Garcia testified Wednesday that Clement told her he felt a bump and heard horns honking but did not see anyone on the ground when he looked in his rear-view mirror, so he drove off.
Clement checked in with his supervisor an hour after the fatal accident and said, "I think I'm the guy you're looking for," Garcia testified.
Garcia testified that she repeatedly asked Clement why he drove off and did not get out of his truck. Clement just shrugged and had a nervous smile, Garcia testified.
Dershowitz was taken to Bellevue Hospital where she died a short time after the accident.
