Teenager Dead After 2 Shootings Within Hours In Paterson
PATERSON, N.J. (CBS 2/AP) -- Two shootings in New Jersey's third largest city have left a 14-year-old boy dead and five others wounded.
Paterson Police Capt. Heriberto Rodriguez tells The Record newspaper one or two suspects opened fire at Rosa Parks Boulevard and Montgomery Street at 4:30 a.m. Friday. Three people were hit by bullets.
About six hours earlier, police say the boy and two 18-year-olds were shot by a drive-by shooter in a stolen minivan at 10:15 p.m. Thursday.
The men were wounded.
Police found the minivan idling without anyone. They have not recovered the gun.
It's unclear whether the shootings are related.
No arrests have been made.
