Tebow Voted No. 95 On NFL Network's Top 100; Sanchez Not On List
NEW YORK (WFAN/AP) — One quarterback led the Jets to two AFC Championship games in three seasons and owns a 55.3 career completion percentage.
The other has a 47.3 completion percentage, only one playoff win under his belt, but a knack for comebacks.
We're talking about Mark Sanchez and the latter, Tim Tebow. The former Bronco might be Sanchez's backup now in New York, but he has bragging rights on the Jets' starting quarterback.
Tebow was recently voted by current players as No. 95 on NFL Network's list of the league's top 100 players. Sanchez, however, didn't make the cut.
"It truly is an honor for me to be on this list, because there are so many great players in the NFL," Tebow told the network. "And for just a few of them to respect me enough to put me on this list, it really means a lot."
Tebow, despite heavy criticism at times, led Denver to the AFC West title and a playoff win over Pittsburgh last season before being traded to New York last month after the Broncos signed Peyton Manning.
Despite being a backup, Tebow is expected to have a key role in the Jets' offense and said he is "working great every single day" with Sanchez.
"I think it's going to be great," he said. "(I'm) just trying to work hard every single day to become a better player. I'm never satisfied with what I've done or where I've been."
