Tea Party Activist Pleads Guilty In LaGuardia Gun Incident
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - Mark Meckler, a high-profile gun-totting founder of the Tea Party was allowed to plead guilty to disorderly conduct after he tried to carry his Glock semi-automatic pistol aboard a Delta Air Lines flight to Detroit from LaGuardia Airport last month.

The gun and thirteen rounds of ammunition were inside a locked gunbox.
Meckler told the cops that he carries the gun to protect himself and that he's had death threats.
The Queens D.A. said prosecutors resolved this case by balancing the need to protect the public against Meckler's personal error in judgement.
The gun was legal, but not in New York.
Meckler paid a $250 fine, but he had to give up the gun.
