Suspicious Package Causes Shutdown At Westchester Airport
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Westchester County Airport has reopened following a two-hour shutdown. The airport was shutdown due to suspicious package, according to authorities.
Initial reports were that the package was found to be cleaning fluid but Westchester County Police will not confirm or deny the contents.
Travelers and people waiting to pick up passengers outside of the airport were told that the shutdown was the result of a bomb scare.
Planes were still taking off as of 6:45 Sunday night and travelers were allowed back inside the terminal by 7:15.
