Suspicious Item That Diverted Newark-To-Geneva Flight Turns Out To Be Camera

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A United Airlines flight that left Newark Airport en route to Switzerland was diverted to Boston after a flight attendant found a suspicious item in a seat back pocket Tuesday night, Massachusetts state police said.
The suspicious item on Flight 956 turned out to be a camera, state police said.
The aircraft landed safely at Logan Airport around 9:15 p.m. The 157 passengers and 11 crew members were evacuated while bomb technicians searched the aircraft at a remote area of Logan International Airport. The United flight was X-rayed and found to be safe. State police spokesman David Procopio said the flight was to resume to Geneva.
The Transportation Security Administration said the plane was diverted "out of an abundance of caution" and its officers also responded.
