Suspects Fire Shots, Make Off Empty-Handed In Bronx Store Robbery
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Two suspects fired shots at a man during an attempted robbery at a store in the South Bronx Monday morning, but the suspects didn't make off with anything at all.
At 7 a.m. Monday, the robbers walked into a building with a reported address of 1754 University Ave., in the Morris Heights section of the Bronx, and demanded money from a 22-year-old man.
A surveillance video of the suspects showed them walking into what appeared to be a convenience store. A Mobil gas station with a convenience store is located at 1764 University Ave. in the Bronx, while the 1754 address does not appear to match up to any actual building.
The robbers fired four shots in the man's direction, but missed. They ultimately ran off without any money or property.
The suspects are both described as Hispanic males in their 20s. One was wearing gray sweat pants and a black jacket, while the other has a beard and ponytail, and was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans, police said.
