Suspected NYPD Shooter Appears In Court As Feds Arrest Man Accused Of Threatening Officers
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – The man charged with shooting two police officers in the Bronx faced a judge and a room full of officers Friday.
The hearing comes as police made an arrest in the case of another credible threat against the NYPD.
Robert Williams' family members shouted "we love you" as the alleged cop shooter was led away in cuffs, indicted on multiple counts of attempted murder, reported CBS2's Christina Fan.
Officers who had been silently watching inside vocally expressed their satisfaction outside.

"We are thankful to the members of the Bronx community who sat in that grand jury, took this case seriously, and made sure this perp was indicted," said PBA president Pat Lynch.
The 45-year-old ex-con is accused of shooting up the 41st precinct Sunday morning, spraying bullets until his gun jammed.
He's also accused of firing at two other officers in their NYPD van the night before in Hunts Point.

A total of two officers were injured. Investigators say Williams told them he was "tired of police."
"Things are getting out of hand. That's sad to hear, cause the precinct is very good people," said Bronx resident Juan Suarez.
The NYPD says the danger is never over.
On Thursday, the department sent out an alert warning of a credible threat, again targeting the 41st precinct. Sources told CBS2 a man identified as Armando Clemente-Ramos has since been arrested.
Williams' family said the suspect has been distraught ever since the recent death of his son. But those who live and work near the 41st precinct say family tragedy is not an excuse.
"I just hope nobody else is ignorant like that, to be running up into a police station trying to shoot people," said a Bronx man named Rahmal.
Williams was once again remanded by a judge Friday. He will be arraigned on the indictment at his next court appearance in March.
As for the most recent threat, police sources say the man in custody was the sole person behind it.
