Suspected Killer To Impact Weekend Outdoor Activities At Harriman
HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - Harriman State Park is vast - roughly 45,000 acres. It's impossible close down completely. But murder suspect Eugene Palmer is thought to be hiding in the woods.

"The police activity that's been involved in the southeastern portion of Harriman, we're just generally encouraging people that normally like to hiking in back country to avoid doing that," said Palisades Interstate Park Commission Executive Director Jim Hall.
This is normally a very busy time for hikers and bird watchers.
Hall told WCBS 880 reporter Sean Adams that people can still visit day use areas like Lake Tiorati.
Police have stopped their formal searching. They're waiting out Palmer, who is an experienced outdoorsman and former park ranger.
They found his green Dodge pickup truck on Tuesday.
He allegedly confessed to his family that he shot and killed his daughter-in-law Tammy on Monday following a dispute about his son, her estranged husband.
Tammy Palmer's parents now have temporary custody of their two children.
