Suspect Sought In Palisades Park Sex Assault
PALISADES PARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Police have released a sketch of a man they are looking to question in connection with an alleged sexual assault in Palisades Park earlier this week.
A woman told police a man had broken into her Second Street home around 3 a.m. Monday and raped her at knife point, according to a release issued Friday by Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli and Palisades Park Police Chief Benjamin Ramos.
The victim said the man came into her bedroom with a small knife that appeared to be from her kitchen, sexually assaulted her and then fell asleep in her bed, police said.
The suspect apparently fled from the house after the victim ran to her roommates' room and called police.
The knife could not be found and the victim's cellphone was apparently stolen, police said.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man with a medium complexion.
Police said he is believed to be between 18- and 25-years-old and about 5-feet-6-inches to 5-feet-8-inches tall.
The suspect was last seen wearing blue jeans and a lime green colored shirt with writing across the front.
Anyone with information is asked to call Palisades Park Police at (201) 944-0900 or the Bergen County Prosecutor's Officer Special Victim's Unit at (201) 226-5620.
