Suspect Sought In Attempted Sex Assault In Bed-Stuy

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are hoping a surveillance video will help identify the man they say tried to rape an elderly woman in Brooklyn.

Authorities said the 77-year-old was attacked around noon Wednesday inside a Bedford-Stuyvesant store where she works.

Police said she struggled with the suspect before he fled the scene.

The suspect is believed to be between 25 and 30-years-old, 5'6" to 5'10" tall, and about 160 to 180 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a blue and white multi-colored button down shirt, a black jacket, blue jeans, black sneaker with white soles and a black baseball cap with white lettering.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).  Tips can also be submitted to the Crime Stoppers website or by texting 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
