Suspect Trying To Flee Police Jumps Into East River, Is Rescued
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The long arm of the law doesn't mind getting wet.
Police were chasing a suspect near the FDR Drive and 24th Street at around 8:35 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The suspect jumped into the East River in a desperate bid to get away.
Officers were able to pull him out of the water a short time later. He's been taken to Bellevue Hospital.
No word yet on what prompted the chase.
