Suspect In NYC Cab Driver Shooting Arrested
NEW YORK (AP) -- Queens prosecutors said a man arrested in upstate New York has been charged with attempted murder in the shooting of a cab driver.
Shawn Peace was awaiting arraignment on charges in the shooting of 53-year-old Trevor Bell. He was apprehended in Buffalo, N.Y. on Tuesday.
It's not clear if he has an attorney.
Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said Bell was shot four times in a botched robbery after he picked up a fare on Dec. 3 at 8:50 p.m. Bell works for a livery cab company.
Those drivers use cars that generally don't have protective barriers like yellow taxis.
Bell remains hospitalized. Peace was also arrested on charges of robbery, assault and weapons possession.
