Suspect In Hell's Kitchen Attack Admits To Climbing Onto NJ Turnpike Toll Plaza To Flee Cops
SECAUCUS, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A man suspected of punching another man on a New York City street has admitted that he climbed onto the roof of a New Jersey Turnpike toll plaza to flee from police
The Jersey Journal reports 32-year-old Corey Pohan of Bergenfield pleaded guilty Tuesday in Secaucus Municipal Court to a criminal trespassing charge. He was sentenced to the 13 days he has already served.
Authorities say Pohan was being transported by NYPD detectives on July 9 when he got out of their car. But he was soon found hiding on the toll plaza roof.
That came one day after Pohan allegedly got into a dispute in Hell's Kitchen.
Authorities have said the 55-year-old victim taunted Pohan, who allegedly threw a single punch that left the man with a serious head wound. The incident was captured on a smartphone.
