Suspect Connected To 13 Bank Robberies In 3 Boroughs

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Wednesday released a new photo of a suspect now wanted in 13 bank robberies, from Lower Manhattan to the Bronx and Queens.

The suspect was identified in April in connection with eight bank robberies – in TriBeCa, the Lower East Side, Union Square and Murray Hill in Manhattan; Fordham Manor in the Bronx; and Flushing in Queens – between Jan. 25 and March 29.

He has since been named in connection with four more

The robberies happened at the following dates, times and locations:

• Saturday, Jan. 25, at 11:02 a.m., at the Chase Bank at 101 Barclay St. The suspect entered the bank and demanded money, and the teller handed over an unspecified sum;

• Saturday, Feb. 22, at 11:45 a.m., at the Popular Bank at 134 Delancey St. The suspect entered the bank and demanded money, and the teller handed over an unspecified sum;

• Saturday, Feb. 22, at 12:22 p.m., at the Capital One Bank at 245 E. 34th St. The suspect entered the bank and demanded money, and the teller handed over an unspecified sum;

• Friday, Feb. 28, around 3 p.m., at the Capital One Bank at 151 E. Fordham Rd. in the Bronx. The suspect entered the bank and demanded money, and the teller handed over an unspecified sum;

• Saturday, March 8, around 12:20 p.m., at the Chase Bank at 69 Fifth Ave. The suspect entered the bank and demanded money, and the teller handed over an unspecified sum;

• Saturday, March 8, at 12:23 p.m., at the Citibank at 79 Fifth Ave. The suspect entered the bank and demanded money, but the teller refused and the suspect left emptyhanded;

• Monday, March 10, around 10 a.m., at the Flushing Savings Bank at 136-41 Roosevelt Ave. in Queens. The suspect entered the bank and demanded money, and the teller handed over an unspecified sum;

• Saturday, March 29, around 1 p.m., again at the Popular Community Bank at 134 Delancey St. The suspect entered the bank and demanded money using a note, but the teller did not comply and the suspect left.

Police released multiple surveillance images of a suspect back on April 9.

Since then, the same suspect has been linked to four more robberies.

• Tuesday, March 29, around 5:40 p.m., at the Capita One Bank Branch at 245 E. 34th St. The suspect walked into the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money, and made off with $1,500;

• Thursday, April 10, at the HSBC Bank at 2 Park Ave. The suspect passed a note to the teller and made off with $1,111;

• Saturday, April 19, at the Capital One Bank at 90 West Broadway. The suspect passed a note to the teller and made off with $2,094;

• Tuesday, July 8, at 9:23 a.m., again at the Capital One Bank at 90 West Broadway. The suspect passed a note to the teller and got $2,408, police said.

• Monday, July 28, at the Capital One Bank at 154 Bleecker St. The suspect walked into the location, passed a note to the teller, and made off with $870.

The suspect was described as a black male about 25 years old, standing about 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds.

The suspect had different clothes on n each incident. He was variously seen wearing a black hooded sweat shirt with a white Air Jordan logo, a black ski cap with "New York" embroidered on it, a black Giants hat, a gray hooded top, blue jeans, white gloves, and sunglasses.
