Suspect Charged In String Of Brooklyn Rapes
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man has been charged with raping three women in separate attacks in Brooklyn this month.
Dexter Bell, 23, of the Canarsie section of Brooklyn, was charged with three counts of sexual rape, two counts of sexual abuse, and additional counts of assault, robbery and committing a criminal sex act.
In each attack, the suspect struck up a conversation with his victim, lured her to an isolated area and then raped her, police said.
The first incident happened around 9 p.m. on April 4 in the area of Albany Avenue and Fenimore Street. Police said the suspect lured a 25-year-old woman to a parking lot where he raped her.
The second happened on April 11 around 8 a.m. In that incident, police said he attacked a 19-year-old woman in the driveway of a private home near Remsen Avenue and Farragut Road.
The third happened later that day just after 8 p.m. In that incident, police said he raped a 15-year-old girl on the sixth floor of a building near Midwood Street and Schenectady Avenue.
Court information for Bell was not immediately available.
