Survey Finds Long Island Has Most Expensive Gasoline In The Country
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Long Island has the dubious distinction of having the most expensive gas in the country.
According to the Lundberg Survey, a gallon of regular-octane gasoline costs an average of $3.75 on Long Island. That's well above the national average of $3.32.
Statewide, the Lundberg Survey finds a gallon of regular will run you $3.71. The average price in Connecticut is $3.66. But far the cheapest gas in the Tri-State can be found in New Jersey, where the average price is $3.31 per gallon.
According to independent oil analyst Trilby Lundberg, gas prices have surged seven cents in the last three weeks.
Gas prices had been on the decline for months but are now on the rise, according to the Lundberg Survey.
The cheapest gas in the country can be found in Salt Lake City, where a gallon of regular will run you $3.04.
