Suozzi Pledges To 'Bring Everything We Have' In Nassau County Exec Race
EAST MEADOW, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - The race is on in the rematch between incumbent Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano and the position's previous officeholder.
As WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported, Democrat Tom Suozzi wants his old job back and has admitted he should have worked harder in 2009 to get re-elected.
But the nominee said he's not making that mistake this time around.

"I'm working as hard as I can every day and we're going to bring everything we have and leave it on the table," Suozzi said.
Speaking from East Meadow on Thursday, Suozzi said Mangano has relied heavily on borrowing, which will impact the next generation of Nassau County residents.
Suozzi also blamed Mangano for leaving roadways in disrepair and having an understaffed police department.
"In the past three and a half years, we've seen more scandals and more tragedies in the Nassau County Police Department than we've seen in the past 20 years," said Suozzi. "There's a lack of training, a lack of supervision and this administration has cut this force to dangerous levels and it's affecting the quality of life."
Mangano has criticized Suozzi for twice raising property taxes and increasing spending while in office.
