Suffolk Police: 2 Gang Members Arrested On Drug And Weapons Charges
HUNTINGTON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Two men who police say have gang affiliations are behind bars, facing a slew of charges following a search warrant at a Long Island home.
Suffolk police said a search warrant executed at 55 Cedar Dr. on Thursday turned up a loaded .40 caliber Smith and Wesson semiautomatic handgun, cocaine, marijuana, cash, digital scales and an assortment of drug packaging equipment.
The drugs have a street value of more than $3,000, police said.
According to authorities, the two men who were arrested -- 31-year-old Wesley Erickson and 37-year-old Andre Knox -- are members of the Old Station Soldiers gang.
Erickson, who lives in the home, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal sale of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Knox, who lives in Huntington Station, was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance.
Both men are being held overnight at the Second Precinct and are set to be arraigned on Friday, police said.
