Suffolk County Police Search For Hit-And-Run Driver
BRENTWOOD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police on Long Island are investigating the death of a 21-year-old man who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver after his car had broken down.
Police say Kieran Smith, of Kings Park, was driving on Express Drive South just east of Sagtikos Parkway in Brentwood, when his car became disabled. Police say Smith was walking on Express Drive South when he was apparently struck by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene.
Police say a passing motorist spotted Smith's body on the shoulder and called police at about 7:45 a.m. Sunday.
Smith's Nissan was impounded and the investigation is continuing.
